Google Releases New Operating System

Today, Google released their browser-based operating system Google Chrome OS as an open source project. Primarily designed for Linux-based netbook users who spend a lot of time online, Chromium OS’ (the project’s open source name) key aspects are speed, simplicity, and security.

The operating system will achieve this by using cloud computing, with most of its applications running off remote servers and not the computer itself. What this means for users is that they will not have to deal with the installation, managing, and updating of their programs.

Google Chrome OS will also have a totally revamped security system that makes it much harder for viruses and hackers to access your computer.
