The word on the grapevine is that next month Facebook plans to unveil a tool that will add another dynamic to your friend integration. It seems you will be able to keep up to speed with your friends’ current locations.
Facebook has been working on a location-based tool for almost a year, but have been waiting to get their privacy terms water-tight and the service perfected. Rumour has it that there will be two distinct features of the tool. In its simplest version you’ll be able to directly share your location with friends. The more interesting aspect is that this tool will allow for independent developers to create apps that take advantage of the Facebook location function.
About 100 million people access Facebook from mobile devices, which makes a location feature an incredibly attractive idea to app developers.

How often do you owe a friend $15 for a theatre ticket or the last round of drinks at the bar? A new app on Facebook is hoping to make your small financial transactions easier.
Buxter is a small funds bank account that allows you to transfer money to your friends via Facebook. Your account can hold no more than approximately $80. The company behind the idea is ClickandBuy that handles online financial transactions for over 13 million account holders around the world.
It's free to transfer money between Buxter accounts but a 1.9% commission fee exists for transfers to other accounts. Buxter currently supports US dollars and Euros with plans for Canadian dollars and sterling accounts possible in about a month.

How Did Facebook’s FarmVille Get to Be So Popular?
By Leila Pejman on Nov 27, 2009 at 2:50 PM
If you are not one of the 60 million players attracted to a Facebook application called Farmville, you're probably scratching your head at either what FarmVille is or how it became so big within the Facebook community. Over 22 million of those players log in to their farms every day and contribute to harvesting crops, tending livestock, and scaring off foxes. I’m happy that the game doesn’t involve guns, knives, and auto theft.
According to Scott Leutenegger, Professor and Game Development Director at the University of Denver, "Humane gaming" could be the forefront of our future.
Humane gaming is a term coined at the university to mean:

A Montréal woman says she has had her insurance benefits cut short after her insurance provider, Manulife, checked out her facebook account.
The American Free Press is reporting that 29 year old Nathalie Blanchard, who filed for a long-term sick leave, from her employer IBM, after suffering from severe depression, has been denied her monthly benefit payments. She says the denial stems from her insurance company saying that on her facebook account she was in several pictures where she appeared to be healthy and smiling.
