Online Attacks Disguised as Michael Jackson Photos
By Veronica Bell on Jul 3, 2009 at 5:29 AM
Security company F-Secure is warning people to be on the look out for malware disguised as photos, videos, and even music from the late Michael Jackson.
The malware is originating on several sites, and includes a self-distributing bot with backdoor capabilities. This infection will then mass e-mail a worm to your contacts list and the malware will continue to spread.
So just another reminder to really be careful of the attachments you open, because, even if it looks like it is from a trusted person/source, it doesn't always mean you can actually trust it.
There are people out there that are looking to exploit others, so keep your anti-virus, firewall, and other security measures up to date!
