For about a year and a half, I’ve spent every weekend renovating my house. After getting it to finally look like a home, there was something missing - pictures on the wall. I could have gone to a local store and buy framed pictures but I wanted personalization. Basically, I wanted to take a digital picture that I liked and turn it into a big canvas print. Originally, I thought this was going to be time-consuming and expensive but I found an awesome site called posterjack.ca that does just that. Not only are the prices affordable, it only took a couple of clicks to order online. They even make metal prints, but they're pricier than traditional canvas.
There’s basically three steps involved: First you select an image. I learned quickly that not all images are the same. Posterjack has an online image quality check to ensure that image you uploaded is suitable or unsuitable for the chosen size. If the picture is unsuitable, it will ask you to upload an image with higher resolution or to choose a smaller product size. This is great because you will know ahead of time if the picture will look good at that size or not.
After that you can add borders, and even effects like making a colour photo black and white or turn it into a charcoal sketch. Then you select the number of prints, pay via credit card online, and enter the shipping address.
My friend and co-worker, Jordan Lee is a photographer and he took this awesome picture above that I transfered on PosterJack's Canvas Print. It's 16x24 inches and cost me $100. Smaller sizes start at around $45.
I’m going to get another picture made, but next time I'm going to splurge on Metal Print. If you're tired of your favourite photos living and essentially being forgotten on your hard drive, I highly recommend using this service to bring them to life.
