It's Official...Samsung has a tablet, Galaxy Tab.
By Leila Pejman on Sep 2, 2010 at 11:30 AM
Samsung welcomes the Galaxy Tab, a strong competitor for the iPad. Is Samsung going to take down Apple? I guess, time will tell.
Nonetheless, this portable tablet computer is based on Google's Android 2.2 (froyo) mobile operating system and will support Adobe Flash 10.1. Includes a 7-inch multi-touch display, with a WSVGA-TFT-LCD color display and 1024-by-600 pixel resolution. The Galaxy Tab is lighter than the iPad, weighing at 0.84 pounds, and measures at 7.48 inches wide and 4.74 inches tall. The Tab has a rear and front facing camera (something the iPad lacks) with 1080p HP video playback. 3.2 mega-pixel camera for the front lens and 1.3 mega-pixel for the rear. It holds a maximum of 64GB storage and will come with 3G, Bluetooth 3.0 and 802.11n WiFi connectivity.
The Galaxy Tab will be available in Europe in a few weeks and expected to arrive in the U.S in the coming months. Samsung has not announced pricing for the new tablet.

If you missed the first part of Brian Wong's interview, check it out here. Brian is the founder of Kiip and the world's youngest to receive venture capital funding. For the second part of the interview, I asked Brian who his tech role model is and what was it like to work with Kevin Rose, founder of Digg.
Leila Meets Brian Wong, Youngest Person To Receive Venture Capital $$ [VIDEO Pt 1]
By Leila Pejman on Aug 31, 2010 at 2:28 PM
I had the opportunity to meet and interview Brian Wong, founder of Kiip (and the world's youngest entrepreneur to receive funding from a venture capitalist) while he was in Vancouver for GROW 2010. His life is divided between San Francisco and his hometown, Vancouver. Kiip is a mobile platform that bridges the gaming world to the real world and it's expected to launch later this year. How does Brian hire his team? Most are former colleagues at Digg or classmates at the University of British Columbia. It's no doubt, they are a group of very bright and talented minds.
Brian is an intriguing and charming guest and of course I had so many questions. So, the interview is in two parts. Here's the first (check back here tomorrow for part two).

High Fashion Netbook
By Leila Pejman on Aug 26, 2010 at 4:50 PM
If you're a butterfly lover you'll love the HP Mini 210 Vivienne Tam edition that was previewed at last year's New York Fashion Week. This "digital clutch" is Tam's second design for HP and inspired by the classic Chinese love story, 'Butterfly Lovers' about a tale of freedom, romance and inspiration.
I recently reviewed the netbook and fell in love with the look and feel of this gadget. First of all, I felt like royalty typing away on a gold chiclet keyboard, plus it has a very comfortable feel for typing away on your next proposal.
Fashionista-on-the-go would appreciate its light weight of just 2.7 pounds and includes a 10.1 inch LED widescreen display, 5.5 hours of battery life, up to a 320GB hard drive, and 2GB of memory on Windows 7 OS. A cute feature is the built-in webcam because it allows you to create and upload photos, chat with friends via Skype, but there's a button for the webcam to turn into an instant mirror (just in case you need to refresh your make-up). I found the buttons on the trackpad to be quite stiff (tho, most netbooks have this same issue). Solution, you can get all fancy by coordinating it with the Vivienne Tam matching mice.
Get Fined $25,000, just by tweeting!?!?
By Leila Pejman on Aug 25, 2010 at 11:00 AM
That's what happened to Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco for posting Twitter messages during last Friday's pre-season contest versus the Philadelphia Eagles. Of course, the NFL weren't happy and reportedly fined Ochocinco $25,000 for those tweets. (Oops!) Though, the league has a social media policy, and players are prohibited from sending tweets 90 minutes prior to kickoff and until all post game commitments are met. This former Dancing with the Star contestant made an apology to the NFL via Twitter and complained that it takes away two months of car payment for his Bugatti.
Do you think Ochocinco deserves to be fined?
Regardless, here's a video clip of his days on Dancing with the Stars.
