Dell Mini 3 Smartphone
By Jeremy Spruston on Jan 10, 2010 at 2:35 PM
Dell is showing off its first Smartphone, the Android-based Mini 3, at CES this week.
Confusing numbered name aside, this marks the company's first steps into the ultra competitive Smartphone landscape.
The touch screen phone will ship with a modified build of Android 1.6 and will be available to U.S. cell phone users on the AT&T network.
No word yet on when we might see the Dell Mini 3 in Canada. You could speculate that since it is on AT&T, when it does show up, it could be on any of the big 3 mobile carriers here in Canada, since they all use the same technology for their networks.

Netbooks have been a hot portable computing product over the last few years, but if CES 2010 is any indication, the next big thing will be tablet PCs. While everyone is awaiting Apple to announce their long-rumoured tablet, many major PC companies such HP, Microsoft, Lenovo and Dell are jumping into the market with their own take on these thin, touch-friendly devices.
The Lenovo Ideapad U1 device is a really interesting hybrid of laptop and tablet. Initially it looks like a laptop but the 11.6-inch screen separates from the base converting it into an ultra-portable tablet. Both the base and screen have separate processors that are shared when the two are connected.
