The Androids Keep Coming

Another mobile phone has entered the Android family. This time it's by Motorola. At CTIA in Las Vegas, the company launched the world's first push-to-talk Android powered smartphone called the Motorola i1.
Motorola says they've enhanced the push-to-talk experience with the ability to view incoming calls despite the applications you are using, whether it's checking emails, composing a message, or listening to tunes. It has multiple keyboard options including Swype and XT9 keyboard entry.
The i1 is slim with a rubbery casing, the press release describes the phone as a "solid body construction that meets military specifications for protection against dust, shock, vibration and blowing rain." Vancovuer gets a lot of rain but blowing rain seems a bit extreme. Now, I don't think the phone will survive after being dropped in a puddle of water or thrown across a field, but it's good for a clutz like me who always manages to drop my phone.
The phone has a 320-by 480 touch screen with a large push-to-talk button on the side. Plus, has a 5-megapixel camera with flash that includes geo-tagging and panoramic capabilities which can be clearly displayed on the 3.1-inch HVGA screen.
The Motorola i1 will be available in the summer. No confirmation on which Canadian carrier will provide the phone.
